Analytics 101
Track file downloads and monitor share activity. Estimated read time: 2 minutes.
What is Analytics?
25cent.cloud's built-in analytics let you see when and how your files are accessed. Instead of wondering if someone downloaded your files, you'll have real data about who accessed them and when.
The Analytics Dashboard
Once you create an account and upload files, you can access your analytics dashboard to see:
| Metric | Description | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Download Count | Total number of times your file was downloaded | Track popularity and distribution reach |
| Access Timestamps | Exact dates and times of each access | Monitor when files are being accessed |
| Geographic Data | Approximate location of accessors (anonymized) | Understand geographic distribution of users |
| Device Info | Browser and OS information (optional) | Understand recipient device compatibility |
Accessing Your Analytics
Step-by-step:
- Log into your 25cent.cloud account
- Go to the "My Shares" or "Dashboard" section
- Click on any share to view its analytics
- Scroll down to see download history and charts
Key Metrics Explained
Download Count
The simplest metric. Shows how many times the file was accessed. Note that:
- Each unique download counts as one access
- Repeat downloads from the same user count separately
- Partial downloads are counted if the connection was made
Timestamps
See exactly when each access occurred. This helps you:
- Confirm when someone received and opened your files
- Track access patterns (all at once vs. spread over time)
- Coordinate with team members on project timelines
Geographic Distribution
See where (approximately) your files were accessed from:
- Country and city level data (anonymized)
- Helps you understand your user base geography
- Can flag unusual access patterns from unexpected locations
Reading the Analytics Dashboard
A typical analytics view shows:
- Summary cards at the top with total downloads and unique accessors
- Timeline chart showing downloads over time
- Geographic map showing access locations
- Download log with detailed access records
Export Reports
You can export analytics as CSV or PDF reports when available:
- Perfect for client reports or presentations
- Automated scheduling for regular reports
- Custom date ranges and filtering
