Multiple Files Upload Guide
Share several related files in one secure share. Perfect for project deliverables and sending multiple documents together.
How Multiple File Uploads Work
When you upload multiple files at once:
- All files are packaged together securely
- Share one link to recipients (not multiple links)
- Recipients download all files at once (usually as a ZIP)
- All security settings apply to the entire package
- Analytics track the group, not individual files
Uploading Multiple Files
- Click the Upload button
- Select first file or drag it onto the area
- While upload dialog is open, add more files
- Or: select multiple files at once from your file browser (Ctrl/Cmd+Click)
- All selected files will upload together
- Configure shared settings
- Complete upload
- Share single link with all recipients
File Organization
When uploading multiple files, consider:
- File naming: Use clear, descriptive names
- Folder structure: Create folders before uploading
- File order: Most important files first
- Mixed formats: OK to include PDFs, images, documents, etc.
Recommended Structure
For a project delivery, organize like this:
- README.txt (instructions for recipients)
- Project_Summary.pdf
- Design_Assets/ (folder)
- Source_Code/ (folder)
- Documentation/ (folder)
Use Cases
Project Deliverable
- Design files, code, documentation
- All in one share link
- Recipients get everything at once
Event Materials
- Agenda, speaker slides, resources
- Attendees access all materials from one link
- Easy to manage and update
Course Content
- Video, slides, worksheets, reading materials
- Students access everything from one link
- Organized by week or module
Contract Package
- Main contract + exhibits + signature page
- All required documents together
- Clear, organized presentation
Best Practices
- Include README: Add instructions or overview file
- Clear naming: Help recipients understand file contents
- Organize logically: Use folders and meaningful structure
- Remove duplicates: Don't include same file twice
- Compress if large: ZIP archives reduce total size
- Version clearly: Include version numbers in filenames
- Date stamp: Add dates for tracking purposes
Alternative: ZIP Before Uploading
Instead of uploading multiple files, you can:
- ZIP all files on your computer
- Upload the single ZIP file
- Smaller total size due to compression
- Recipients extract after downloading
- All in one neat package
Pros: Smaller file size, cleaner package, familiar to all users
Cons: Extra step for recipients to extract
Recipient Experience
When recipients access your multi-file share:
- They see your share link
- Enter password if required
- See list of all files (usually)
- Download all at once or individually
- Usually packaged as ZIP for download
Troubleshooting
Upload Takes Too Long
- Check internet speed and stability
- Consider ZIPing files first to compress
- Try uploading at off-peak hours
- Upload smaller batches if very large
File Corruption During Upload
- Rare, but can happen with unstable connections
- Try uploading again
- Use wired connection instead of WiFi
- Contact support if issue persists
Recipients Can't Extract ZIP
- Recommend WinRAR or 7-Zip for large archives
- Ensure ZIP didn't exceed 2GB (some tools limited)
- Provide extraction instructions
